Celebrating the Beauty of Winter

February 20, 2013 by Angie Macdonald Leave a Comment

It’s a beautiful sunny day in the middle of February.  Outside, there’s bitterly cold wind, but here in my study I’m cosy and warm.

February is usually a tough month for me. Having battled against the effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and survived colds and flu, I feel tired. And in desperate need of warmth and sunlight.

Things I Love About Winter

Despite all my moans and groans, there are some things I love about winter.  Here are a few:

  • Crisp sunny days with clear blue skies and fresh, icy air
  • Eating soups and casseroles
  • Feeling snug and warm inside
  • Playing in the snow
  • Watching beautiful sunsets against bare silhouetted winter trees.

The Beauty of Winter Photo Gallery

Each season I like to put together a photo gallery of some of my favourite images. Most of these were taken in Dulwich Park in South East London.

As we’re only weeks away from what will hopefully be the end of another long, cold, dark winter, what better time to celebrate the beauty of winter.

Click on each of  the thumbnails below to see an enlarged version of the photograph.
